Your home in Africa
Immerse yourself in the unspoiled wilderness of South Africa at Ximuwu. A new luxury lodge offering unrestricted game viewing in the Greater Kruger and utmost exclusivity in a private reserve.
Klaserie Private Nature Reserve
Ximuwu is a piece of privately owned land situated in Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, South Africa. The reserve borders the world famous Kruger National Park without any fences, allowing animals to move freely between our property and the Greater Kruger. There is no commercial activity on our property, affording our guests the opportunity to have a piece of South African wilderness all to themselves. The expansive wilderness is home to the Big 5 (as well as cheetah and wild dog) and remains one of the last truly exclusive safari destinations in Africa.
Established by Patrick and Elly Suverein, Ximuwu is a new luxury lodge hosting private group bookings of up to 8 guests at a time. We pride ourselves on giving our guests an authentic and private safari experience. During your stay at Ximuwu you will be looked after by our team of staff with the help of Patrick and Elly and their friends, Marcel and Monique. You also enjoy access to your own private game viewing vehicle, hosted and looked after by our guide and tracker. Schedules and activities are decided entirely by guests and you are able to decide what you would like to do according to your own timeline.
We pride ourselves on giving each group of guests at Ximuwu a stay that is unique to them. No safari experience will ever be like another, as we are guided by our guests’ desires.
Escape to Ximuwu and experience what it is like to have nature all to yourself.
After dreaming about living in the bush for many years, Patrick and Elly Suverein bought Ximuwu in March 2016. Originally from the Netherlands, the Suverein’s travelled throughout Africa for decades and together visited over 30 different countries in Africa. Together with their friends Marcel and Monique, they decided that Klaserie in South Africa would be the perfect place to settle down.
In 2020, after a few happy years enjoying the bush, Patrick and Elly felt a need to share their paradise with others. And so, plans to develop the property began. Having designed the lodge from start to finish, the Suverein’s personal involvement has been integral to the success of Ximuwu. Today the couple live permanently on the property and feel immense joy in sharing their home with others from around the world. When visiting Ximuwu you can expect to see them out in the bush helping to find sightings, welcoming you for a drink at the bar or coming to say ‘howzit’. Their passion is seeing happy guests enjpying Ximuwu!
