location
Klaserie Private Nature Reserve
Ximuwu is privately owned land in Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, South Africa. The reserve borders the world-famous Kruger National Park, with no fences in between. This allows animals to roam freely between our property and the Greater Kruger.
At Ximuwu, there is no commercial activity, so guests can enjoy a piece of the South African wilderness all to themselves. The vast wilderness is home to the Big 5, as well as cheetahs and wild dogs. It remains one of Africa’s last truly exclusive safari destinations, offering a unique and intimate experience with nature.

History
After dreaming about living in the bush for many years, Patrick and Elly Suverein bought Ximuwu in March 2016. Originally from the Netherlands, the Suvereins traveled throughout Africa for decades and visited over 30 African countries. Together with their friends Marcel and Monique, they decided that Klaserie in South Africa would be the perfect place to settle down.
In 2020, after years of enjoying the bush, Patrick and Elly felt the need to share their paradise with others. So, they began making plans to develop the property. The Suvereins have been deeply involved in the design, which has been key to Ximuwu’s success. Today, the couple lives permanently on the property. They find great joy in welcoming guests from around the world.
When you visit Ximuwu, you might see them out in the bush, helping to spot wildlife. You could also find them at the bar, sharing a drink, or simply stopping by to say ‘howzit.’ Their goal is clear: to set new standards for luxury safaris in South Africa.
